Thanksgiving was a wonderful day! Tim and I decided that this year we would fly solo and stay in Rexburg for the holiday. We bought a turkey and everything else to make our own Thanksgiving meal. Tim took care of the turkey and did a great job with it...looked good, tasted good, and it didn't burn or even get overcooked! Arthur was very cooperative as we prepared all the dishes. He didn't mind being in his chair for half of the day, for the most part anyways. He had a lot of fun helping us and must have worn himself out from all the hard work because just as we sat down for dinner he zonked out in my arms.
We invited Anna, a Chinese girl, over to have dinner with us. I visit teach her and she didn't have anywhere to go for the holiday and her husband couldn't be here so she joined us. It was really fun to have her. She is really sweet. After we had dinner she picked out Monopoly for us to play together. She is an accounting major just like Tim so I stood no chance whatsoever beating the two of them. Of course I lost by landslide but that's alright because we had a lot of fun playing the game.
When the game was finished Anna left to go back to her apartment and Tim and I cleaned up the kitchen before pulling out our Christmas stuff. Our Thanksgiving break was a time for us to work on homework, except for Thanksgiving Day itself. As a result we decided to decorate on Thanksgiving instead of the day after so we could have more time for the homework. We put up our little 4 foot tree and decorated it with a few ornaments. Then Tim decorated the front door with a garland and put some lights in the window. Once that was all complete we watched the "Polar Express" while eating pie and I drank some egg nog! Overall it was a really enjoyable day spent as a family!
I am so thankful for Tim and Arthur. I love both of them so much. I am thankful for the opportunity we have to be in Rexburg going to school at BYU-Idaho and all the many things we are learning while we are here!
