For Halloween this year Arthur is going as Eeyore and Camilla is a flower. Last night our ward had a trunk-or-treat for the kids. It was a lot of fun and both Arthur and Camilla had a blast. Arthur loves his costume and calls Eeyore "horsey" since he doesn't really know what donkeys are and doesn't understand the difference. It makes him love Eeyore all the more because of that though. He even cuddled with the costume when he went to bed last night and is doing the same tonight.
Before the trunk-or-treat they had a little parade so the kids could show off all of their costumes. It was so cute to watch Bailee carry Camilla around and Arthur kept stopping and smiling for everyone. Very adorable but not so much when it holds up the rest of the kids behind him. He was so happy to be walking around and having everyone watch. The whole time he had the biggest grin on his face.
Camilla didn't care so much for the parade but became much more excited once we started going around to the cars and filling her pumpkin with candy. She just loved seeing that candy go in and then wanted to reach in and grab at anything she could. It was really hard to keep her in my arms and hold on to Arthur's hand at the same time but we made it work. Arthur loved going from car to car and saying "trick-or-treat" and then when he received the candy he would say "thank you" before he would move on to the next car. He especially liked when they would hand him the candy so he could put it in his pumpkin all by himself.
Tim was passing out candy back at our car that was all decked out with a Halloween tablecloth as a backdrop and a Mickey Mouse pumpkin he carved early in the day. Then he had the music going from the whole ride at Disneyland for Haunted Mansion...his favorite for Halloween.
It was a really fun night with the kids and it makes me even more excited for the actual trick-or-treating we will get to do with them on Thursday night. I think they will have a lot of fun going around the neighborhood with their pumpkins.
