Moving to Moscow

On the 31st of July we loaded up the truck, cleaned the apartment, said good-bye to Tim's family, picked up Gesselle, and left for the first leg of our move. Since Tim and I knew we would be moving not long after I had Camilla we planned ahead to have Gesselle drive the Jeep for us so I wouldn't have to drive about 600 miles by myself with two children.

Camilla all buckled in and ready for the drive to begin.

Arthur playing with Gesselle just before we left town.

Arthur at the motel we stopped at that first night in Butte.

He fell asleep on our way to Couer d'Alene the second day of the drive.

We stopped in Couer d'Alene to get some lunch and take a break from all the driving. Arthur loved mimicking Gesselle's actions.

The first morning at our new apartment. Arthur just wants to play outside all the time.

Before we left to drive Gesselle to the airport so she could fly home.

Here's the airport...it's tiny!

Right before Gesselle went through security.

Camilla's First Week

The day after we brought Camilla home from the hospital we all took a little outing to go swimming at the hotel where Tim's mom and grandma were staying. It was Arthur's first time swimming and he had a blast, especially since he had his new ball to play with in the pool. He really loved being in the water but even more than that he loved being out of the water and throwing his ball in for Tim to then throw back out for him to chase. He thought he was so funny running after his ball. Every time Adam would pretend to grab the ball though Arthur would squeal at him and let him know that it was his ball and not Adam's.

When Camilla was discharged from the hospital her blood test showed that her bilirubin levels were a little high. So the next day we went back to the hospital for her blood to be drawn for it to be tested by the lab again. Her number had gone up and so we had to put her on the bili blanket to give her the UV light. Everyday for that whole week she had her blood drawn and was kept on the light until finally the day before we left for Moscow. Her number had gone down enough. It was a huge blessing.

You can see a little bit of the glow from the blanket by her right shoulder. She was my little lightning bug when she was on the light.

Camilla Mae

Camilla Mae Bradford was born on July 20, 2012 (ten days before her due date) at 6:22 a.m. She was 6 lbs 8 oz. (the same as Arthur) and was just over 19 inches.

Adam was the lucky one and the first one to hold Camilla besides me. He was so happy even after being in the room for the whole birth. I let him make the decision as to whether or not he stayed and he chose to stay in the room but sit back in the corner behind my bed so he didn't have to see it all. I am happy that he was able to be there for my baby girl's birth and he will always have that sweet connection to Camilla. In fact he was telling my mom all about how he would always be Camilla's favorite cousin.

My little angel!

Arthur meeting Camilla for the first time. He was enthralled with her.

He couldn't keep his eyes off of her. It was so cute!

Arthur was able to come back later that day to see Camilla again.

This time he wanted to hug her and burp her.

All ready to go.

At home with Arthur...obviously he was pretty happy.
